Home-Based ABA Therapy Services

Our Behavior Technicians are available to provide one-on-one treatment to your child in the comfort of your home. Our team will assess your child’s needs to determine the best plan for them.

A pediatric OT works with children who have physical or mental challenges. They help kids develop or regain the skills they need to succeed in school, sports, and other activities. The goal is to help kids reach their developmental milestones and become more independent.

Benefits of Home-Based Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis therapy services at home make it easy for caregivers to get involved with their child’s treatment. This helps caregivers and other family members to learn from behavior analysts how to best support the child’s progress.

ABA at home also allows staff to teach skills in the same place where behaviors happen every day. For example, personal hygiene skills like brushing teeth and washing hands can be taught with the child’s own sink, toothbrush, soap, and towels.

InHome provides collaborative ABA therapy that offers support and guidance for all members of your family in the environment that best suits your child’s needs. Home-based ABA services are convenient and don’t require your child to transition between locations.

Preparing for Home-Based ABA Therapy

Home-Based ABA therapy can be convenient but it’s important your home is prepared properly to enable the ABA therapist to provide the best care possible.

Dedicated Space

The best space for home-based ABA therapy sessions doesn’t have distractions. For example, a room that doesn’t have a TV or other electronic devices.

It’s also a good idea to use the same space for every session to promote consistency and allow your child to feel comfortable within that space. You can discuss which areas would work best with your Certified Behavior Analyst when they first arrive in your home.

Tools

A comfortable learning environment with developmentally appropriate materials is important for ABA therapy. A child-sized table and chairs are recommended. During therapy sessions, your ABA therapist might use sensory tools, toys, puzzles, or other items. It’s best to store these items away when they’re not in use. This helps keep them special and effective for therapy sessions.

Get Involved & Be Available

Caregivers, parents, and siblings can go about their normal routines in the home during therapy sessions. There must always be a responsible adult present and available in case we would like to bring you into the session. We encourage parents to observe and participate in ABA therapy and your Certified Behavior Analyst will review expectations with you.

Helping Children with Autism While They’re at School

School-Based ABA Therapy Services

When a child’s full support team works together, it can make all the difference for that child and their family. At InHome, we are proud to partner with private schools, as well as preschools and daycares in the communities we serve.

From classroom consultation to professional support, our technicians are here to collaborate with school districts to ensure better outcomes for students, teachers, and other school district professionals.

Helping Children with Autism While They’re at School

When students work with an ABA technician during their school day, they receive personalized support targeted toward their educational, social, and behavioral goals. At InHome our therapists work alongside parents and teachers to create therapy plans that focus on each child’s unique needs at school, from providing academic support to encouraging social development.

School-based ABA therapy can help students with autism by breaking down daily tasks into manageable steps, offering support when practicing social interactions, and assisting with the child’s needs in the classroom. This approach helps children manage their behaviors better, interact more comfortably with their peers, and progress at their own pace.

What Do ABA Technicians Do in a School Setting?

School-based Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop individualized therapy plans that address specific behavioral issues. The goal of school-based ABA therapy is to support students in achieving success both academically and socially while improving their overall quality of life.

During school-based therapy, BCBAs direct Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), who implement therapy plans. Therapy sessions in schools may involve one-on-one sessions with a RBT, group interventions, or classroom-wide strategies that promote positive behavior.
