The Psychology services are focused on screening, assessing and evaluating and/or diagnosing children who are experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral difficulties and social or emotional difficulties. Our psychologists conduct comprehensive evaluation of the individual to identify the area of needs and strengths to help guide the intervention.

What does a psychologist do?

A Psychologist is a licensed clinician who applies scientific knowledge of child development and counseling skills to support a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. Our Psychologists work with a child individually as well as the whole family in order to understand and support the child’s socio-emotional change, cognitive development, behavior, and emotional well-being. We support children and young adults manage:

  • Emotional and developmental challenges
  • Diagnosed mental disorders
  • Cognitive deficits
  • Significant trauma and loss
  • Poor coping strategies and increased stress related to developmental delays
  • Problems with social interactions
